A Dog's Life

I think I need a dog.

Preferably something white and fluffy....

That will let me dress it up and still keep smiling...

But for now we'll keep getting our doggy fix...

Feeling Inspired!

Had a blast at the Art From The Ashes party last night.  The artwork was amazing and it was great to hang out all night chatting with friends and meeting the other artists.

WHAM GLAM THANK YOU MA'AM AT SKYLIGHT BOOKS

Vince and I were at Skylight Books to take a picture of the short story I published, "Wham Glam Thank You Ma'am." If you happen to be in the Los Feliz area check it out.

While we were at the bookstore this guy came up to me and wanted to know what my book was about. So I told him the gist of the story and he bought the book! I sold my first copy of Wham tonight! And Vince was there with his camera to catch the moment. So absolutely perfect!

We met this couple that were from France. They were traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle all throughout the west. They loved America and kept saying how clean it was. Yes, we're a clean people :) Friendly too!

Bodie

We spent our 13th anniversary exploring an old ghost town named Bodie. It's an abandoned gold mining town that at one time had over 10,000 people living there.









This is the Bodie jail. It looks innocent enough until you read how there was a group of vigilantes that would pull people out of the jail and hang them without a fair trial. Oh yeah, this was the wild west.





You get the strangest feeling looking inside these houses. It was like there was a plague and people just stood up and walked away from all of their belongings. There are plates and coffee mugs on the table as if someone was in another room. Kinda eery...

Lake Charles

Lake Charles never disappoints. I've spent many an hour on this lake, boating, drawing, walking around it but this was a whole new twist. I was standing at the bait and tackle shack that sits near the pier. There was a big flyer taped to the window that said, "We're in Black Bear Territory." I took the time to read the directions about what you should do if you encounter a bear in the wild. As soon as I was finished reading the flyer I turned my eyes to the lake shore and look who was about 15 feet away from me....




The bear could care less about me! We watched it fish the shore line for about 10 minutes. She deftly pulled this fish out of the water for a little snack.



People gathered and snapped pictures as she went along the shore completely ignoring the papparazzi. My heart was beating so fast, I knew if she wanted to attack me she could reach me in about half a second. Good thing I didn't wear my new perfume, "Eau du Trout" that day.

Mammoth = Heaven on Earth!

Our first hike was at Black Rock Canyon. It was an up hill trail which was really tiring but so beautiful it spurred you to go on and on.
