Solvang with Mom and Uncle Bob

An overnight stay in Solvang with my mom and uncle Bob.  I really enjoy traveling with these two.  They're up for anything.

We stayed at the Chumash Resort so of course we ate at the buffet. Look at my mom's plate!  And she packed another plate of desserts after that.

 The pool at the resort was very refreshing.

 The best part of the trip was watching my mom win money.  She got so excited when she won.

 The next day all mom cared about was getting a prune danish and some fudge.  I know where my sweet tooth comes from.

Paramount Ranch

Teaching Matt how to handwrite his name and explaining how important it is to have an individual signature that only he will have.

After a yummy lunch at Lure we decided to take a walk at Paramount Ranch.  It was too hot to hike so we just sort of hung out in shady areas and enjoyed each others company.

Hiking in Satwiwa

A gorgeous day in Satwiwa.  To say this is my happy place is an understatement.

This tree was in a fire a few years ago.

And these lizards that live in the tree have changed their skin color to black.

I was staring at the tree and all of a sudden noticed them sunning themselves.  Amazing how nature adapted to the blackened tree.

Spring has sprung!

Truly the most beautiful time of year....lush greenery, flowers everywhere, fresh air.  Every part of my soul says "get outside!"

I was visiting my mom in Lompoc and got an incredible nature treat.  It looked like how I imagine Ireland to be - green and lush -like a William Wendt painting.

These cows were so curious.  I called out to them, "hey ladies!" and they all stared at me while I took their picture.

The drive to Jalama Beach was magical.
