Woke up this Easter Sunday and just had to make pistachio cupcakes with strawberry frosting.
Insane as it sounds it's been six months since I saw my mom because of the pandemic. We finally met in Santa Barbara for a few hours. We fit in some shopping, lunch at Lure and a McConnell's ice cream before I headed home. Hopefully we'll never have to go that long again - life is too short!
February 16, 2021 our dear Roma took flight. After 18 years of loving her our hearts are broken but we knew it was time and she's now free of suffering. We were lucky to be her guardians since she was a six week old kitten. God speed Roma. We love you with all of our hearts.
Winter is the best time to get outside and huff it up the hill. We're in Griffith Park enjoying this gorgeous day.
The whole holiday season was covid strange - no parties, no family visits, no friend gatherings...but at least I have my Vinney who spoiled me rotten on my birthday.

All in all it was a very nice holiday.
January 2, 2021 It's time to put everything away until next year.
We had some home made cranberries left over from dinner which became the mornings delicious parfait. Cranberries, strawberries, Greek yogurt, whip cream. Yum!
We took a hike yesterday to see the snow covered mountains. Around sunset the mountains turned a bright pink and then deep purple. All of a sudden this GIANT moon rose up from behind the mountains. It was truly magical.
My view as I was driving to the store:
Even though it was just the two of us we still enjoyed Christmas day. We opened presents, cooked, took a walk around the lake, watched some fun shows, talked to a bunch of friends and family. I feel so fortunate that we're safe and sane during this pandemic. It was hard not seeing my mom and family for the holiday but hopefully next year we'll all be together.
I love making cookies and handing out to friends. This year we stayed home so my neighbors got lots of cookies :)
