Two birthday girls in one weekend

First I celebrated my mom's birthday with her in Solvang and then the next day I went to Santa Barbara to celebrate with Lorie for her birthday.  I've been eating a lot of cake :)

Mom's Birthday

Took Mom to Solvang to celebrate her birthday.  

The buffet at The Chumash Resort is always a favorite.  Man, my mom can pack it in...

But this is her favorite part - she won playing the penny slots!

Went to a Garden Party....

Our wonderful neighbors had a Music Festival at their house.  It started indoors where Anne and a couple of her friends sang American Songbook songs and some Brazilian Bossa Nova songs.  Then we had lunch and moved the party outside.  Then we were treated to Scott's band and a couple of other bands - all were so good!  I loved hearing stand-up bass, vibes and drums - such a great combo.

It's been a crazy couple of months so I was really happy to go have breakfast with Chris, Eiko and Sophie and have some fun.

Had a fun night teaching these awesome actors.  Oh the emotions!

New Car

After hours at the car dealer I was really happy to buy this new car and drive it off the lot.  

Space X rocket launch over our heads

This was beyond cool - right outside our door we could see the Space X rocket launch.  It was so bright that it turned the night sky light blue.  It was one of the most beautiful things I ever saw in the sky.  Stunning and exciting.
