Vince's birthday weekend in Palm Desert

What a fun birthday weekend!  We stayed at the Westin Desert Willow Villas in Palm Desert for two nights.  Of course we packed in a lot of activity over our three days...

On the way to PS.  The snow on the mountains makes it an even prettier drive.

Our first hike took us up the Jackrabbit Trail that enchanted us with a gorgeous sunset and a full moon rising over the mountains.  Vince's birthday moon!

We met a nice lady at the top of the trail and chatted while the sun went down.
And then rose Vince's Full Moon for his birthday:

The next morning we woke up to this sunrise.  The desert is so stimulating!

There's no surprises that this is one of my very happy places.
The next morning we had a meal at The Grill in La Quinta and then walked around a car show.

After the car show we went back to the Villa's to relax by the pool and play some paddle tennis.
It was warm out (80 degrees) so we planned our hikes for later in the day.

Our second hike took us to Henderson Loop Trail.  There was hardly anyone there and we enjoyed the beauty and solitude.

The next mornings sunrise.

There is a field by our room that was blooming yellow flowers everywhere you looked:
Can you tell how happy I am?
The next morning we met our dear friend Wes at the polo fields to watch him play.  Such an exciting game!

Fun weekend of socializing - Bottega Louie and The Annie Awards

A social weekend to be sure.  Started the weekend having brunch with friends Mark, Larry, Rick, Alison, Billy and Vince at Bottega Louie.  Vince took these yummy photos of food but we forgot to get a photo of us all at the table.  Priorities :)

We had a couple of hours to chill-lax and then it was time to dress up and go to the Annie Awards.  It was nice to see everyone dolled up and enjoying an awards show specifically for animation.  There were a lot of great films this year.

Sat next to Ron Yavnieli and his niece:

Fred Tattisciore and Diamond White giving out awards.  Diamond later went on to win Best Voiceover Acting in a tv show.  She's so awesome!

Sean Lennon won an Annie for producing "War Is Over"  I have to admit I was having a fan moment when I saw Sean and thought about his father John.

The VO nominating committee:  Raymond Persi (congrats on your win for Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie), Ron Yavnieli, Pilar Uribe, Mark Walton (missing our Ellen Dubin - she was in Canada).

And it's always so good to see our beautiful Rebecca Davis:
