A quiet Halloween

Not one kid knocked on our door.  It was quiet and kinda sad.  But at least we voted today!  That's scary enough.  Look out for the voter bandits!

We made these caramel apples and pretzel and chocolate turtles.  Have to have goodies for Halloween!

Roma and Pumpkins

Every year we take pictures with the cats and pumpkins.  First we had three cats, then two, now we're just one - Miss Roma.  Don't know if we'll have any cats next year so I thought I better put up this photo of my girl.

Laguna Escape!

It's been really hard staying indoors and not doing anything during the pandemic.  But we escaped last weekend and went to the Laguna Beach Art Museum and saw a gorgeous show that featured Plein Air paintings from Granville Redmond.  Very pretty stuff.   Afterwards we had lunch at Urth Cafe on the patio and then walked along the beach.  It was very rejuvenating to be out and about and breathing fresher air.  It's been so horrible here for months with smoke from the fires.  My lungs were very happy.

The way California used to look a hundred years ago:

13 Ghosts and Spongebob

I was flipping channels the other night and I saw that our dear friend Richie's film that he wrote was playing and then I noticed that Spongebob was playing at the same time.  I love it!  And to get really random, I noticed that the film above was one of Vince's favorite movies and it was playing on the Paramount channel.  Vince worked at Paramount for years.  Wow, there was a whole cosmic "thing" happening here ;)

Santa Barbara Escape

I couldn't take another day of the heatwave in L.A. so I packed up a bag and headed to Santa Barbara for a three day work vacation escape.  When I left L.A. it was close to 100 degrees and when I got to Santa Barbara it was 79 degrees.  Heaven on earth.  It was great to see my mom and celebrate her birthday and I really enjoyed a couple of visits with my dear friend Lorie where one night we had a gourmet dinner picnic at Shoreline Park, another time we took an electric bike ride.  In between visiting I worked in the daytime.  Gotta love Zoom I can teach classes from anywhere.

I ate a lot of McConnell's ice cream.

When I walked on the beach it was actually cool.  First time in weeks that I wasn't dying from the heat.

We took a twenty mile ride from Lorie's house to Goleta Beach.  So much fun.

...until I hit a curb and flew off the bike!  Ouch!  I wasn't 50 feet away from Lorie's house, almost there but nooooooo, I crashed.

I won't show you the details but take it from me, I'm black and blue all over my body.   New bruises are still forming two days later.

But I still had a blast!
