Tonight marked the first time in 13 months that we socialized in the same room without masks! It was very exciting. Although I have zoom breakfast with these guys every Saturday it sure was good to see them in person. It almost felt strange at first, a real, life sized human instead of a screen-sized friend.

Pickles and Spongebob
This cracks me up. Our life converging on a pickle jar:
Vince was the asst. editor on the Rugrats movies and t.v. show.
Our life as a pickle!

Rick's Zoom Birthday Party
This was Rick's second birthday without any human contact (stupid covid) so we threw him a Karaoke Quiz Show Party on Zoom. So fun! I sure hope by next year we can gather in person.
Desert X trip to Rancho Mirage - March 2021
Boy was it good to get away for the weekend. Our first trip out of town in a year. Damn pandemic! We felt safe going to Desert X since it's all outdoor art installations and I'm just posting these photo's two weeks later so I know I didn't get covid traveling around. Yay! We started our art crawl at Sunnylands. Such a beautiful oasis in the desert.
Palm Desert - Getting our art fix on!
Thousand Palms Oasis. All it takes is a little bit of water and the desert comes alive. Trees, flowers, wildlife...
After our hike at the oasis we started our Desert X Art Tour.
My favorite work of art...
This was my favorite art piece from the exhibit. You had to walk up a hill to get to it. It's a giant looming piece that you can see from the parking lot. It reminded me of the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey - a strange monolith towering over the desert.
When this kid ran up to the exhibit he screamed out, "what the heck is that?" Everyone laughed and I said, "let me take your picture with it." They happily agreed.
On to the next piece of art. This was made from cans that carry water in Africa. The cans were cut up and re-assembled.
This might be my next etching. It really speaks to me about piecing together life.
I had to call my dad and try to talk him in to coming to Palm Springs for vacation. He'd love all the golf courses. This is the view from our hotel room:
