Boy, I know I can pack it in but Lorie kept up with us like a pro. I usually stay with her in Santa Barbara because, well, it's Santa Barbara, but we invited her to L.A. for some fun and had a blast. She knows Mark and Rick (our breakfast club) from all the years we've been friends. We took her to Superba which is in the old Cat and Fiddle space. Good food and a beautiful patio to hang out in.
After lunch we took a walk and then headed to Jocie Adams and Zach Tenorio's house for a performance with their band, Arc Iris, featuring a wood wind section that just knocked my socks off.
Nothing like an enchanting evening in the garden listening to beautiful music. After a while we got hungry so we headed out to Edendale for some dinner and then stayed up talking until my eyes were drooping. The next day Vince made us breakfast, we took another walk in the neighborhood then went to the Broad Museum.
Vince giving Lorie photo tips:
This Jeff Koons piece is what they were photographing:Some Basquiet close ups:A reminder for the ladies:After avoiding indoor venues for almost three years it felt really good to see some art and do things that we love to do without having to wear a mask or be afraid of other people...
After the museum we had a sushi lunch then said goodbye to Lorie. Fifteen minutes later our friends Richie and Nicole came over. I forgot to take a photo of them for the memory blog but I'm sure you'll believe me, we had a very social weekend. Who's tired? Rest when you're dead!
